FUSED FABRIC PENNANT BANNER

FUSED FABRIC PENNANT BANNER

Materials
  • Assorted Fabrics
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Thread
  • Iron
  • Cardboard (to make a template)
  • Ribbon
  • Iron and Ironing Board
  • Wooden sticks (2)

Instructions

  1. Select fabric. I used different color with small prints. The idea is to get one color for each letter and small prints to make the embroidered letter more visible.
  2. Add fusible to fabric. Follow instruction from the manufacture. I used “Steam-A-Seam2” from The Warm Company.
  3. Make a template of a triangle. I prefer a isosceles triangle. The size will depend on the desire final banner. Mine is approximately one inch wide for a small cake.
4. Trace the triangle and cut. See picture. You will have a lot of double-sided triangles.
5. Trace the letters in each triangle.
6. Embroidery the letter in each triangle. My banner says “with love”

7. Arrange the banner pennants in a row to get an idea of the total length. Cut a piece of ribbon adding 7 inches to the total.
8. Leaving a tail of ribbon, place the ribbon in the middle of the two triangles placing the letters always in the same direction.
 9. Fold the triangle and press iron for 4 seconds keeping the ribbon straight. Repeat for each triangle.
 10. Make a hole in each wooden stick.
11. Attach the ribbon tail to each stick.

 Done

  Enjoy!
