PINE CONE ELF WREATH

Materials

• -          Felt
• -          Scissors
• -          Hot glue gun
• -          Glue gel
• -          Markers
• -          Picture or drawing
• -          Wire 20 gauge
• -          Jingle bell
• -          pipe cleaners
• -          ¾ inch wooden bead
• -          Pine cone
• -          2 paper clips
• -          Ribbon or fabric strip

Instructions

Cut

6 inches of pipe cleaner for legs 

5 inches pipe cleaner for arms

1 quarter circle felt for hat

2 mittens on folded felt

2 boots on folded felt

3 inches pieces of wire for ski pole

1. Make legs: tuck the 6 inches pipe cleaner between the scales of the pine cone in and secure with a       dab of hot glue.    

2. Make arms: tuck the 5 inches pipe cleaner between the scales of the pine cone in and secure with a     dab of hot glue.

3. Cover the wooden bead with a picture of a face or draw with markers eyes and lips. Holds the       wooden bead inserting a stick in the hole. Use glue gel to attach the picture and over it as protective varnish.        

4. Fold the quarter of circle of felt to make the hat. Use hot glue to make the cone and attach the jingle bell.

5. Using hot glue attach the boots and the paper clip to the bottom of the boots.

6. Using hot glue attach the mittens and add the ski pole or any object that the elf will hold in the hand. Attach the wooden head to the pine cone. Attach the hat to the head.

9. Attach with wire, from the back, each elf to a wreath

AMISH PUZZLE BALL PINCUSHION PATTERN

Amish Puzzle Ball Pincushion pattern adjusted to any size

Materials

·         Light-colored fabric

·         Dark-colored fabric

·         Cardboard

·         Needle

·         Polyester fiberfill

·         Ruler

·         Scissors or circle cutter or rotary cutter

·       -          Six jingle bells, buttons or beads

·         Straight pins

·         Thread

               

Instructions

 1. Draw a circle pattern of your desired diameter. Fold in quarters. Overlap two quarters to get the oval pattern as shown in the picture. 

  2. Draw  an oval pattern on the cardboard with the pencil. Cut out the pattern.

3. Place the cardboard pattern on the fabric and draw around it with the pencil. Cut out the oval.             Make 12 ovals of dark fabric.       

4. Cut out six circles out of the light colored fabric. Cut in half each circle.                                                                        

5.  Fold in half and crisp the fold. Make a mark one inch from the straight border.

6.  Star sewing the folded half circle one inch away front he straight border and stop ¼ inch away from the curve border. This opening will allow to turn inside out the wedge and fill it up with polyester fiberfill.

7. Sew, a 1/4-inch seam with a straight stitch, along the curved edge of a light folded quarter and dark-colored oval together, wrong sides together. 

 8. Chain-sewing speed up the process and saves thread and time. Turn the quarter wedge                      created inside out to the right side.      

9. Stuff the quarter wedge with fiberfill.

10. Hand-sew the unfinished edge closed. Make 12 quarter wedges, repeating the pattern using six         light-colored and six dark-colored oval.

11. Hand sew the pointed ends of four quarter wedges together with thread. Repeat for another               four quarter wedges.                     

 12. Hand sew a jingle bell, button or bead to cover the hand stitches in the connection.    

13. Hand sew the inner pointed ends of four quarter wedges together with thread and keep adding            the other quarter wedges.      

14. At this point there are eight quarter wedges together.

 15. Hand sew the pointed ends of the last four quarter wedges together with thread. Your will                    have twelve quarter wedges.                  

16. Hand sew the jingle bells, buttons or beads to cover the stitches on the connections.
